Watch out too for the paperback of her recent Agatha title, 'Agatha Raisin and the Busy Body' and another Hamish MacBeth title. Out Soon!
Well, the shop has closed, courtesy of Amazon, (we did pay our taxes) but the two old duffers remain. One of them, Tony, might add to this blog occasionally.
I love the new look cover art on this series, but am still not sure that I like the concept of keeping up to date, by re-publishing with new covers.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the cover of the book what helps to make it a classic? I also think that, for the same reason, author's shouldn't keep re-publishing older works full stop, but keep their reputation by continuing to produce work with new and fresh ideas.

Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteAh, but the publishers need the money. So do we come to that. Also, there are many readers who have only recently come across her work so the re-issues appear as a new series.
I like both the old and the new Agatha covers. All of the new jackets certainly are lively. There are some jackets where I prefer the old but youngsters like the new, such as Just William and Famous Five.
Tony.
