Dickens Window

Apart from popping my head round the door, I've been missing from the shop for three weeks, looking after grandchildren (a change is as good as a rest, they say, and I really had a great time)

I was delighted to see, on my return, a terrific window for the Charles Dickens bi-centenary.

The quill pen and writing desk belong to David who has not quite moved into the digital age.  *

There's a showy arrangement in the shop too with some audio discs due in any day now.

The big sellers are the Clare Tomalin hardback biog, Dickens: A Life and, not far behind, her The Invisible Woman: The Story of Nelly Ternan and Charles Dickens, in paperback.

The Wicked Wit of Charles Dickens is packed full of humourous quotes and is also selling well.

Don't forget our special 3 for 2 offer on the classy 'Collector's Library' hardbacks too.

(*In truth, the quill is on loan from Grimes House - many thanks!)
